Data

Data is raw facts and figures that can be processed and analysed to provide information.

Data can be thought of as tiny puzzle pieces that contain information. Just as puzzle pieces come in different shapes and colours, data can be numbers, words, images, or sounds. It’s all the stuff we collect and store on computers and devices. For example, think of your favourite photo. That photo is made up of data, with each pixel representing a tiny piece of information.

Data is everywhere, from the websites we browse to the messages we send. It’s like a big library full of facts, ideas, and memories. When we analyse and make sense of data, it can help us understand patterns, make decisions, and discover new things.
