Cyberpunk 2077’s enormous 1.5 update was released recently and the notes of the patch describe the changes to everything from combat AI, to an overhaul in the system for driving, to the options for decorating your apartment in V and the possibility of getting haircuts at the midpoint of the game.

The patch notes, however, don’t give the whole story. For instance players used to be in a position to stack Bully as well as Deadeye iconic clothing modifiers. The effect of both were great on V’s Crits. Bully boosts the damage of crits by 30% and Deadeye boosts crit damage by 20%, and the chance of crits by 77%.

Before Patch 1.5 you could put several variations of this mod by packing them into V’s various slots for clothing, and then all those gorgeous mods for crits were placed in. The result could be a 99% chance of being crit, and an incredible amount of damage and could lead to  hitting hulking cyber monster boss Adam Smasher, and then taking out boxing heavyweight champion Razor Hughes by a few punches.

The players have been noticing some significant changes introduced in patch 1.5 which aren’t mentioned by the patch note, a lot of them related to a major nerfing in the crit chance of V and its crit damage. Furthermore there are a host of changes which have been introduced in patch 1.5 which does not appear anywhere in the patch notes.

For instance players were in a position to stack Bully or Deadeye iconic clothing modifiers, which both can have an enormous impact on V’s Crits. Bully boosts the damage of crits by 30% and Deadeye boosts crit damage by 20%, and the chance of crits by 77%.

In the past, prior to patch 1.5 you could stack several variants of the mods by putting them in V’s various slots for clothing, and then all those gorgeous Crit modifiers were stacked. The end result could have been the 100% chance of getting crit, and an incredible amount of damage that could result in hitting hulking cyber monster boss Adam Smasher before taking out boxing heavyweight champion Razor Hughes in just a couple of punches.

The stacking of these mods, in fact, appears to have been implemented with update 1.2 in March last calendar year. The mods now are only able to be inserted into certain categories of clothing. Legendary mods are also now required to be worn with legendary clothes, or else they aren’t able to be fitted with any other mods, which makes it more difficult.

This isn’t the only change that’s been made in patch 1.5. Like One Dragon points out, the addition of points to V’s reflexes comes with an increase of 1% to the chance of crit. This has been reduced to 25% of a reflex. It’s time to level up Cold Blood perk in a method of granting an increase of 10%. It’s now reduced to just 1% per level. Even the default damage to crits for V at level 1 is cut in half by reducing it by 50 to 100. It’s as if CDPR has declared a battle against critiques.

Some guns took a hit in terms of Crits too. The breakthrough legendary sniper rifle, previously had 75% chance of crit success and a crit damage of 2000. Now there is only +4.2% chance of crit and +26.25% crit damage, an astonishingly significant reduction. It’s also an excellent bet that other famous weapons are also being changed. Cyberware has been similarly nerfed. The famed Visual Cortex Support cyberware has been reduced from a 45% chance of crit chance to just 30%. A legendary Limbic System Enhancement now gives an increase of 7% in the chance of crit, whereas prior to the patch, it was 25%.

If you’re playing a crit-oriented version of V, it appears that you’ll never again be the unstoppable master of critical hits, but is that better than nothing? It’s certainly fun to run all over Night City scoring crits with each hit and doing massive amounts of damage, but it’s not really difficult.

I would recommend you watch the entire video of One Dragon for the reason that it has useful details on additional changes that don’t show on the patch note for example, tweaks made for armor as well as the Mod Armadillo the adjustments to the number of mods for clothing slots, and more information regarding patch 1.5.
