The official announcement of the much anticipated undead action game next year is causing much frenzy among gaming lovers. Announced in 2014, the game fell off the map, with earlier getting delayed due to the switch in the developers. It came to light in 2021 that Dead Island 2, if it were to actually happen, would be available in an exclusive Epic Games Store.

The CEO of the game, Lars Wingefors, indirectly hinted that the company will be releasing the game at the end of the fiscal year 2023, which will be in March 2023. The CEO of the game, Wingefors, said in the event that he could not talk about Dead Island 2 as the game has not been formally announced. Furthermore, he also said that there was one unannounced triple-A title on the pipeline, which the folks are generally thinking to be Dead Island 2! Adding to this, he further said that it was hard for him to comment on it, but in general, he is excited about unannounced titles.

This announcement has put an end to the speculations that Dead Island is not to be launched and has not been cancelled by either Embracer or Deep Silver. The game was expected to be launched in 2014 but has undergone several changes since then. The game was to be initially created by Yager before it was taken over by Sumo Digital. However, this was passed on to Dambuster in 2019.
